ok but u you only should shred the straw if ur gonna plow it down never shred straw if ur gonna make bales outta it just let it full out the back u get more straw
If you do it that way the Combine shreds the Wheat stubble too much, Thats why they used a Discbine to mow there Straw.
no the lower the header of the combine the more straw u get cause the combine driver who did my dads had hes header right down low and there was probably and inch – 2 inches of stubble left
So he could get more Straw to bale into small squares.
Why did he cut the wheat so high off the ground with the combine?

Me, We do hay every year. And we Plant corn and oats when we run out for our beef cattle we raise. Across the street at Pierce Farms they do Hay,Soybeans, And Corn every year. And sometimes oats. Center Creek Dairy does hay,wheat,soybeans,corn,and oats.

They told me they averaged 81 Bushels an acre.
